The Chatham County Fire Department hosted an Open House at Fire Station 3 on April 29, 2025, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Fire Training Center, located at 2009 Grove Point Road. This open house was intended to provide the Chatham County Board of Commissioners, County staff and the public an opportunity to gain insight into the fire department and its capabilities, as well as tour Fire Station 3.

In addition, attendees will see two new fire engines recently added to the fleet, an aerial truck, command vehicle, Community Paramedic Behavioral Health Unit vehicle, the Marine Unit, flood and swift water rescue boats, and equipment. Attendees will also have an opportunity to tour the Fire Training Center including the classroom, fire building, grounds and props used for training firefighters.

The day was devoted to establishing transparency, appreciation and fortifying relationships with County leadership and community members.
