CCFD Hosts Summer Fire Camps

Open to students entering 10th, 11th, or 12th grade, the camp offers a unique opportunity for participants to engage in hands-on Fire and EMS training led by experienced fire service professionals.
The three-day camp for girls will be June 5-7, and boys camp will be June 26-28. Camps will be from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. daily, and will be hosted at the Chatham County Fire Department Training Center,
Station 3, 2009 Grove Point Rd. Savannah, Ga. 31419.
Participants will gain first hand experience in real-life emergency response scenarios while learning lifesaving techniques, fire safety practices, and critical life skills. Under the supervision of dedicated CCFD instructors, campers will engage in an interactive, supportive, and safe environment designed to encourage teamwork, leadership, and self-confidence.
“This camp gives young men a firsthand look at fire and EMS,” said Training Chief Joshua Anderson. “It’s about learning the skills and experiencing the teamwork it takes to serve our community.”

Campers will have the opportunity to explore fire trucks, handle firefighting gear, and participate in rescue drills and emergency scenarios all while forging new friendships and developing a strong sense of civic responsibility.
