Chatham County Fire Division Chief Joshua Anderson Completes Master’s Degree in Organizational Leadership

Division Safety and Training Chief Joshua Anderson has completed his master’s degree in Organizational Leadership through Columbia Southern University. Chief Anderson has more than 18 years of experience in the fire service. Over the course of his 18-year tenure, Chief Anderson has attained associate degrees in Fire Science and Business and a bachelor’s degree in Fire Administration.

For the past six years he has been the Training Chief first with Chatham Emergency Services and now as the current Training Chief for Chatham Fire. He has graduated more than 80 new firefighters and oversees training for more than 120 career firefighters. He has successfully established, developed, and expanded an EMS education program from inception. And, has established, developed, and is expanding the Company Officer Program, a first of its kind in the State of Georgia and was the first to teach Fire Officer 3 in the field in the State of Georgia. Among the numerous achievements Chief Anderson has completed, including but are not limited to, the National Board on Fire Service Professional Qualifications Fire Officer 1,2,3 and 4, Fire Instructor 1,2 and 3,  Fire Department Safety Officer, Georgia State Fire Evaluator and Proctor, Georgia Chief Fire Officer Certification and Chief Officer Orientation 1,2,3 and 4. Chief Anderson oversees the Safety Officer Program at Chatham Fire and is a member of the Emergency Services Disaster Planning Team.
