CCFD Hosts Three-Day Engine Operations Training Event

Chatham County Fire Department recently hosted a comprehensive three-day training event focused on enhancing engine company operations, bringing nationally respected fire service instructors to our community. The program was led by Charlotte Fire Department Battalion Chief Jonah Smith and Spartanburg City Fire Department Lieutenant Brian Winder, both highly regarded for their experience, instructional skill, and dedication to operational excellence.

Throughout the training, CCFD firefighters along with personnel from Garden City Fire Rescue, Pooler Fire Rescue and Hardeeville Fire Department participated in classroom instruction, hands-on drills, and scenario-based evolutions designed to strengthen foundational engine company skills. Topics included hose line deployment methods, fire attack strategies, water supply considerations, and coordinated operations with truck companies. Chief Smith and Lt. Winder emphasized efficiency, communication, and tactical decision-making, core components of safe and effective fireground performance.
