In August 2025, the Commission on Professional Credentialing (CPC) reached an incredible achievement, 4,006 credentialed professionals worldwide, the highest number ever awarded.

This milestone isn’t just about numbers, it represents over 4,000 individual journeys of dedication, growth, and service excellence. Each designation reflects countless hours of study, training, and self-improvement, proving the fire service’s ongoing commitment to better serving our communities.

At Chatham County Fire Department, we’re proud to have two leaders who have earned these prestigious credentials:

Captain Michael Mason – Fire Officer (FO) Designation

Fire Chief James Vickers – Chief Fire Officer (CFO) Designation
