Chatham County Fire Department is proud to announce the creation of the Special Operations Medical Unit – CTAC (Chatham County Tactical Aid & Care).
This newly formed unit represents an important step forward in Chatham County’s commitment to enhancing emergency medical readiness and tactical response capabilities across the region.
CTAC is an elite team of paramedics specially trained to provide tactical medical support to the specialized units of Chatham County, including law enforcement, fire, and emergency management partners. Their mission is to deliver advanced life-saving care in high-risk, dynamic environments ensuring that both responders and civilians receive the critical support they need when seconds count.
Through superior training, operational readiness, and advanced risk management, CTAC medics are equipped to handle complex incidents such as active threat situations, hazardous materials responses, and large-scale public safety operations. The team’s advanced tactical medical training allows them to integrate seamlessly into multi-agency operations, providing both proactive medical coverage and rapid intervention when needed.
